Heart in Education
Heart in Education provides fully customized professional development workshops for teachers, PreK - 12.
We provide workshops that focus on the relational aspects of teaching, beginning with teachers’ relationship with themselves.
As Parker Palmer writes, “Good teaching cannot be reduced to technique; good teaching comes from the integrity and identity of the teacher.” Heart in Education guides teachers to self-reflect about their beliefs and patterns in the classroom (and life), therefore improving how they engage with students, colleagues, families, and others.
Over 1000 teachers across the United States are using our approaches and tools. Outcomes include teachers feeling more inspired and renewed in their teaching, improved classroom management, greater compassion for themselves, their students, and their colleagues, lower stress, and more positive relationships with all constituents.
“We teach who we are.”

What Teachers, Administrators, and Parents are Saying
After just two sessions, I feel inspired to rethink my teaching, take time to be more present in the moment, and truly embrace the joy children have when learning.
— Kate Kralik, First Grade
Inspiring, transformative, and profound — a way to know the spirit of our students and ourselves.
— Trista Giacallone, Middle School Math
Erin is magic! When we were struggling to find our bearings in the chaos of pandemic school, she helped us move beyond the unsettled feelings we were experiencing and into a posture that was calmer and more responsive to our students. Her work with our faculty and leadership team continues to pay off many months later.
— Andrew Jones, Head of Upper School
I learned how to engage my students in new ways.
— Sam, Fifth Grade
A program that comes from a zone of genius. My child is now thriving.
— Lindsay Goldberg, Parent
Heart in Education is brilliant and life giving. I enjoyed every minute.
— Kevin Coll, High School English
Inspiring. Practical. Helpful. Confidence Boosting.
— Denise, Second Grade
