Charlotte Allen is currently an English teacher at Wilton High School, a yoga instructor, and a writer. She found her passion in education while volunteering to teach poetry to students in Bridgeport as a part of her undergraduate Creative Writing program at Fairfield University, and shortly after, went on to receive her Masters in Education. Since then, she has worked in a variety of districts and states including Bridgeport Public Schools, a New York City alternative high school, and an educational leadership position supporting teachers across thirty-one school districts in Oregon. Her experience as an educational leader ultimately brought her back to the most fundamental part of the work we do: the students in the classroom. She believes fervently in educational equity, that education should be rooted in the holistic well-being of our students, and that the wisdom lies in the voices of teachers.
